More X-Remote Rumors, Codename ‘Newton’
This rumor is looking more and more credible as each bit of new trickles out. The new information comes from 8bitjoystick.com and claims that the codename for the Wii Remote copy is ‘Newton’ after Sir Issac Newton and Newtonian Physics. The poster also states that it could be mere months before full scale production of these Xbox motion sensing controllers takes place, with the final product to hit by the end of the year.
The article also goes into how Nintendo licensed some of the patents that were used in the creation of the Wii and the Wii Remote and that Microsoft is now using those same patents to create its very own casual-aimed controller. The author also has the stones to claim that Microsoft is not copying Nintendo since they don’t own all the technology patents used in the Wii controller functionality. All I can say that is, we’ll see dude, we’ll see. But it’s all looking very ‘me too’ thus far on Microsoft’s end if the rumors of the past few days are true.
