Harmonix Begs Nintendo For Wii Hard Drive

Stubborn Nintendo

In what may be the saddest statement concerning Nintendo’s lack of vision in a while, Rock Band and Guitar Hero developer Harmonix pleads with Nintendo to offer Hard Drive support on the Wii. Harnomix designed Rob Kay blames the lack of a hard drive as the only reason why there are no plans for any downloadable content for Rock Band on the Wii. Key says:

“Come on Nintendo, we need a hard drive,” he further adds “That’s what we want. The whole problem is there’s nowhere to store it. If the platform could do it, we’d jump on it”, he continued. “It’s something that we championed to Nintendo, that we’d like to do it. Who knows what will happen down the line, I don’t know what’s coming down the line, but that’s the reason there’s no DLC in Wii Rock Band”

This is just pathetic Nintendo. You’re only shooting yourselves in the foot as I’m sure some of the DLC profit would head your way if it were possible. Just add this alongside the censoring of Mortal Kombat for the SNES, the insistence on a cartridge format for the Nintendo 64, and lack of proper online for the Gamecube/Wii as yet another Nintendo misstep in the total-lack-of-forethought category
